This is a privacy policy of the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council. In this document “we”, “us” or “USAPEEC" refers to the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council (USAPEEC).

USAPEEC is represented in South Africa by Zodiac Marketing cc, who represent the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council in Sub-Saharan Africa. Zodiac Marketing cc is a registered company in South Africa.

We go to extreme lengths to protect your privacy and confidentiality. Our privacy policy is simple: we do not collect any personal identifiable information (PII), without your explicit consent. If you think our policy falls short of your expectations or that we are failing to abide by our policy, please let us know, alternatively you should leave our website immediately.

Here is how we handle your information when you visit our website:

1. Information Collected and Stored Automatically

When you browse through the USAPEEC website, we may gather and store certain information about your visit automatically. We use technology to gauge your surfing history as well as your browsing habits to improve the information presented to you.

The information we store does not identify you personally. We automatically collect and store only the following information about your visit:

  2. The type of browser and operating system used to access our site,

  4. The pages you visit.

This includes all information given to us in the course of your business and ours, such as information you give us in your capacity as an importer or exporter. We undertake to preserve the confidentiality of the information and of the terms of our relationship. It is not used for any other purpose. We expect you to reciprocate this policy.

We keep information which forms part of our business record for minimum of six years. That is because we may need it in some way to support a claim or defence in court.

4. You send us personal information

When you send us a message, via email or by completing a form online, we use that information to respond to your message. We record your request and our reply in order to increase the efficiency of our business. Moreover, we do not create individual profiles with the information you provide, nor will the information you provide be shared with any private organisations. We do not collect information for commercial marketing.

5. Website Security

Information presented on the USAPEEC website is considered public information and may be distributed or copied. Use of appropriate by-line, photographic images etc. credit is requested.

6. Privacy Impact Assessment / Disclosure to Government

A privacy impact assessment (PIA) is an analysis of how information is handled: (1) to ensure handling conforms to applicable legal, regulatory, and policy requirements regarding privacy, (2) to determine the risks and effects of collecting, maintaining and disseminating information in identifiable form in an electronic information system, and (3) to examine and evaluate protections and alternative processes for handling information to mitigate potential privacy risks.

We are subject to the law like everyone else. We may be required to give information to legal authorities if they so request or if they have the proper authorisation such as a search warrant or court order.

7. Cookies

When you visit some websites, their web servers generate pieces of information known as cookies. Some cookies collect personal information to recognise your computer in the future. We do not use cookies to track you or store any personal information.

8. Social Media

USAPEEC uses third-party services such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube to communicate and interact with the public. You may encounter these services as separate websites, or as applications embedded within the USAPEEC websites. These services are controlled and operated by third parties. By interacting with USAPEEC through these third-party services, you may be providing third parties access to your personal information which can be used to distinguish or trace your identity. Any information collected by a third-party service is subject to the privacy policies of the third-party service provider.

Please note that these third-party services supplement USAPEEC's traditional communication and outreach efforts. Should you have concerns about communicating with us via these channels, please use traditional channels to contact us.

9. Marketing and trading information

With your permission we pass your personal details with your product request to our members - whom we consider service providers of products you would find useful. You may opt out of this service at any time by instructing us otherwise at zelda.sharp@mweb.co.za.

10. Complaining / Commenting

When we receive a comment or a complaint, we record all the information you have sent to us. We use that information to resolve your complaint or give you relevant feedback. If your complaint/comment reasonably requires us to contact some other person, we may decide to give to that other person some of the information contained in your complaint. We do this as infrequently as possible, but it is a matter for our sole discretion as to whether we do give information, and, if we do, what that information is.

We may also compile statistics showing information obtained from this source to assess the level of service we provide, but not in a way that could identify you or any other person.

11. Use of site by children

If you are under 18, you may use our site only with consent from a parent or guardian.
